We’ve had a high volume of inquiries driven by the recent acquisition of WineDirect and Cultivate by Commerce7’s parent company, Fullsteam.

In a world of increasing consolidation we’re proud to continue building lasting partnerships with right-fit clients.

Just as hospitality is core to our clients, we also value providing a high level of customer service. In support of this, we are pragmatic about the number, and types, of clients we can take on.

You are likely a good fit for Offset Commerce if you meet the below criteria.

You are a high-touch wine business with $2M+ in annual DTC sales and a realistic approach to leveraging technology. Our ideal clients seek technology that prioritizes customers over transactions and enables more personalized service. They are responsive and proactive and understand the capabilities and limits of their technology and team’s bandwidth. We also work with select smaller wineries and new brands on a limited basis, the majority of which include engaging us for strategy and design services through the Offset Brand Studio.

You care about how your brand is represented and value good design. Offset is one part wine brand studio, so branding and design is in our DNA. Even if you don’t use our design services, our standard onboarding includes customized account and path-to-purchase pages that reflect your brand’s look and feel. For clients who engage the Offset Brand Studio or work with their own designer or agency, we offer options for further design customization.

Your DTC strategy leans on high-end sales models. Allocated offerings make up over 60% of our client’s total DTC revenue so, unlike other platforms, we’re financially motivated to continually invest in allocation tools and features. Our commitment to serving high-end wine also means we embrace multiple sales models, from elevated club tools to an iOS point-of-sale app built for high-touch hospitality.

You value working with a time-tested independent company with deep expertise in selling high-end wine. Over the past 16 years we’ve steadily grown to a team of 18, a size justified by the business we have, not aspirational market share. Our independence allows us to focus on sustainable growth and long-term partnerships with our clients.

Our goal with the above is to provide you with more insight for you to better assess if we might be a good fit for you and your company’s needs. If the answer is yes, please take a few more moments and complete the following form so we can have the best team member reach back out to you.

FAQs

What is your pricing model?
Our standard fees are tiered by DTC volume and can be found on our pricing page.

How do your fees compare to competing platforms?
Our fees may appear slightly higher than some of our competitors. However, once you factor in the cost of various third-party plug-ins required by other platforms and the cost of an external CMS system, hosting, etc, the all-in price for using our platform is usually comparable or more affordable. We also strongly recommend that anyone considering a new commerce platform look deeply into the nuances of third-party credit card processing. These fees are often oversimplified during the sales process but later add up to be higher than expected.

What are some of the core third party integrations included in your standard fees?
• Email Marketing Platform (Campaign Monitor and Klaviyo)
• SMS (Red Chirp and SlickText)
• ShipCompliant
• Tock
• QuickBooks (WGITS and ShoGo)
• See our integrations page for more.

How do you handle credit card processing?
We have a deep integration with Stripe, the world’s leading payment company. We believe in transparency. The third-party Stripe fees are: 2.9% / 3.5% + 30¢ Split flat rate credit card processing fees for Visa, Mastercard, Discover (2.9%) and American Express (3.5%). For high-volume clients direct contracts with Stripe are supported.

How long does it take to migrate to Offset Commerce?
Migrating to Offset Commerce can range from 30-90+ business days depending on the complexity of your business.

How do you handle data migration?
A member of our Client Experience will personally transfer your data. This service is included in the Offset Commerce onboarding fee, which is tiered by DTC volume.

How much time should my team allocate for onboarding?
The onboarding process entails weekly meetings with our Client Experience team and tasks for you to complete. If your team is strapped, we highly recommend working with a consultant to assist you with your onboarding. We are happy to make recommendations.

How do you handle the website component of migration?
Existing Website Migrations: If you are looking to migrate your website to the Offset CMS platform to take further advantage of Offset’s technology stack, let us know! We are happy to go into detail about how that can streamline your ongoing website maintenance. We take on a handful of these projects per month and can let you know where our schedule currently stands.

Custom Websites: If you are looking to leverage this opportunity to further push your digital presence with an overhaul of your website, the Offset Brand Studio team is happy to be in touch. Given the highly collaborative nature of these projects, we are very careful about scheduling these projects and how they overlap so let’s discuss your thoughts and timing. We also love it when other talented designers/developers leverage our platform (see next question).

Can I use Offset Commerce but engage my own designer and/or developer?
Yes! The reason we built Offset Commerce was because as website designers and developers, we found the existing commerce options to be clunky and limiting. We needed a better system for our clients, and we knew other designers and developers might need a better option too. If you’re interested in pursuing this path, get in touch and we can explore various options for how to integrate, which include but are not limited to: building on our open API, connecting to a subdomain, or pairing your designer with one of our developers.
